Famous traders, rappers, and even Caitlyn Jenner’s social media accounts are all hawking tokens in what many suspect is a coordinated series of breaches.
Over the weekend, several celebrities and industry influencers had their X accounts hacked, promoting everything from meme coins with celebrity inspirations to ORDI and Luna2. One of the most recent victims is Gigantic-Cassocked-Rebirth, or GCR, a crypto trader who goes under a pseudonym and is well-known for generating money on contrarian transactions. They confirmed there had been hacking into their X account.GCR’s X account posted a message on May 26th about ORDI and Luna2.0, momentarily increasing their respective token values by 6% and 274%, respectively.
Many pointed out that the hacker might have made more money by using the account to promote a microcap coin, but instead, they posted the two tokens, which made meager profits.
Crypto Community on Alert
Crypto specialist Miles Deutscher noted that the GCR hacker “fumbled the bag hard.”The community does, however, issue a warning, stating that the GCR hack might only be a minor portion of a larger assault on famous X accounts.
“GCR informed us today that there is an effort underway to compromise high-profile Twitter accounts,” disclosed Udi Wertheimer, who is a Bitcoin developer and analyst for Ordinals.
The new token “RICH,” which introduced on the Solana meme coin creation site pump. fun, may purchased using the link shared by American rapper “Rich The Kid” (Dimitri Leslie Roger) on his X account, which has 2.3 million followers. It has achieved a $90,000 market value in the first two hours of the start. The post has removed, although it’s unclear from the statement whether Rich The Kid’s X account hacked.
Controversy Surrounds Caitlyn Jenner’s New Meme Currency, “JENNER”
At the same time, American media star Caitlyn Jenner’s X account pushed a new meme currency called “JENNER,” which has already acquired a $27.1 million market cap since its inception approximately eight hours ago, according to DEX Screener.
Pundits in the industry disagree on whether Jenner’s short video advertising the coin was real or a deepfake. Videos purporting to show Jenner and her manager, Sophia Hutchins, have, nevertheless, confirmed the authenticity of the posts and videos with multiple claims.
On Jenner’s Instagram pages, the JENNER currency also advertised. Hutchins subsequently ran an X space on Jenner’s account to reaffirm that no deepfake involvement.Pump.fun also hosted the official launch of the JENNER token. Interestingly, Caitlyn Jenner’s cryptocurrency wallet exactly matches the one used by pornographic content maker Kazumi, whom hackers likely compromised on May 20 while she was advertising the coin “ZUMI.” And also JENNER also has a connection to the RICH, DOLL, and SOULJA tokens as stated by an industry expert.Hutchins asserted that when questions asked in the X spaces, Jenner’s team unaware of these relationships.
