CryptoPunk recorded another $16M NFT sale in March

The second-largest CryptoPunk NFT sale was achieved when CryptoPunk #7804 sold for 4,850 ETH, or roughly $16.4 million. Collection of blue-chip nonfungible tokens (NFTs) March saw another record-breaking sale at CryptoPunks when a further uncommon alien item brought in about $16 million in Ether. CryptoPunk #7804 bought on March 20th for 4,850 ETH, which was about $16.4 million at the time of the transaction.

The NFT sale came after a widely reported NFT sale earlier in March, and it earned the second-highest selling price ever for a CryptoPunk.After the prior #7804 punk sale, CryptoPunk #3100 sold for 4,500 ETH on March 4, making it the third-largest sale ever. At the time of sale, valued at over $16 million.

The collection includes 10,000 NFTs, including CryptoPunk #7804. But its unique qualities are what give it its value. Only 254 CryptoPunks have their cap forward like the character in the NFT. It has modest shadows shared by just 378 CryptoPunks and a pipe, which only 317 of the NFTs have.

But the fact that the digital asset is one of just nine extraterrestrial CryptoPunks makes it rarer.

Peruggia’s Reflections on CryptoPunk Sale

The NFT seller, Peruggia, wrote a post on X sharing her opinions about the transaction. The seller of CryptoPunk said that he felt like an imposter and that he was holding NFTs back by not giving the item the credit it deserved, describing the transaction as the “end of an era.”

Peruggia paid 4,200 ETH (about $7.5 million) for the CryptoPunk in March 2021. Although the NFT trader received an offer that was roughly $18 million in 2022, they kept the piece for more than three years. Before the two $16 million transactions this month, the deal also held the record for the second-largest CryptoPunk sale.

Many of the community members welcomed the seller and expressed gratitude for keeping the NFT asset, while others applauded the sale. The NFT collection’s sales volume surged to surpass other well-known NFTs like NodeMonkeys and Mad Lads in weekly sales thanks to the sale of CryptoPunk #7804.

NFT statistics tracker CryptoSlam reports that over the previous seven days, CryptoPunks sold $21.5 million worth of goods. Transaction volume for NFTs started increasing due to widely known NFT sales taking place across several blockchains.NFTs reported $1.5 billion in sales volume during the last 30 days across several blockchain networks.
