Nvidia outperforms Apple by 25x

The famous American chipmaker Nvidia’s stock price has risen more than 25 times since the start of 2024, outpacing Apple’s value right before the much-anticipated 10-to-1 stock split is scheduled to begin. from the beginning of 2024, the share of Nvidia has increased by almost 150%, compared to a small 6% increase in Apple’s shares. Nvidia outperformed Apple stock quickly on the monthly chart. its price grew by 34%, while Apple’s stock increased by more than 7%. Most people are aware that Nvidia is the biggest semiconductor maker in the world. The rising demand for semiconductor chips, mostly due to AI algorithms, is driving the increase in its valuation.

Nvidia’s Stock Split May Increase Retail Interest & Volatility

Before the June 10 stock split, Nvidia shares saw a sharp decline in pre-market trading on Monday. As of 11:40 am UTC, Nvidia was down 0.25% in pre-market trading, trading at $120.89. However, over the last five days, Nvidia’s shares have increased by almost 10%, based on data from Yahoo Finance.

The producer of chips has split as the fifth of the “Magnificent Seven” stocks since 2022. Other companies that have split their stock include Alphabet, Apple, Tesla, and Amazon. Adam Coons who is Winthrop Capital’s chief investment officer have told Yahoo Finance that while the stock split boosts retail interest and it might also cause more volatility.

He has stated that when you dilute the institutional purchasers, they may be a little bit more impulsive and emotional in their purchasing and selling decisions, which could result in increased volatility.In the past week market value of Nvidia hit $3 trillion with the increasing demand for semiconductor processors. Nvidia momentarily overtook Apple on June 5 to become the second-most valuable company in the world.

Moreover, the CEO of droppGroup Gurps Ra, describes Nvidia’s achievement of the $3 trillion milestone as a “seismic event” for the company and the AI sector. Nvidia’s graphics processing unit processors are the preferred hardware option for creating AI applications.  AI development companies like Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI all employ Nvidia chips, which fuels demand for the industry leader in chip production. Ilan Rakhmanov, the founder of ChainGPT Foundation, believes that the demand for AI-driven applications will continue to fuel Nvidia’s price climb.
