For developers of the metaverse game Overdare, the Circle will offer an in-game wallet and support for USDC payouts.
Overdare, a company that focuses on the metaverse, announced a collaboration with USD Coin issuer Circle to include Web3 wallets within games and pay USDC to its gaming content providers.
To facilitate simpler cryptocurrency payouts for game content providers, Circle and Overdare established a strategic alliance on February 26. The release states that Overdare would incorporate the Programmable Wallets service from the stablecoin issuer to enable in-game wallets and USD Coin rewards for gaming content. As a result, content producers can now get stablecoins in return for their video game content.
A collaboration between video game publisher Krafton best known for distributing the well-liked battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and software startup Naver Z, Overdare is a nonfungible token (NFT)-driven metaverse game. On September 15, 2023, the project revealed as an Unreal Engine 5–5-powered mobile game akin to Roblox.
Circle Forge Partnership to Empower Web3 Game Economy
Circle further mentioned that the USDC stablecoin will integrated into the metaverse as an additional means for producers to settle transactions and make money, in addition to the wallet. Furthermore, the metaverse company sees this as a chance to assist developers in making the move from Web2 to Web3 platforms.
Henry Park, CEO of Overdare, conveyed the team’s enthusiasm for the collaboration with Circle. The executive declared that the collaboration would “guarantee creators reliable access to their earnings” and commended the stablecoin issuer for adhering to regulations.
According to Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle and co-founder, the partnership has the potential to influence the “future of digital entertainment” and create a Web3 environment that is accessible to all. Allaire further stated that they are thrilled to promote the creator economy by offering Web3 wallets and USDC payout functionality to Overdare.
The most recent Overdare development coincides with a rise in interest in blockchain-based gaming tokens. The cryptocurrency token for the Web3 Pixel valued at around $2.7 billion on February 22nd, the day it released on Binance. At that point, the PIXEL token had increased by more than ten times from its $0.04 listing price to a peak of $0.53.
